Version 0.5 · Windows and Mac
Like a paint palette, but for digital designers and developers
A lightweight desktop app for designers and developers. Keep every project’s colors, fonts, notes and logos in one small, always-within-reach window. Copy what you need in a click, without digging through five other apps.
Downloads open soon. When they do, Windows or macOS may show a warning the first time you open it, because the app isn't digitally signed yet. Here's the step by step.
What it does
Keep what you need within reach — and keep working
Give each project its own workspace. Keep the essentials visible, copy them in a click, and collect references without interrupting your flow.
Colors, with their code
Type a HEX or pick a color from anywhere on your screen with the eyedropper. Choose how it copies: HEX, RGB, HSL or as a CSS variable.
Fonts
The project's typefaces with their name and use. Copy the name and paste it in your editor.
Notes
Several notes per project. Write once, copy whenever you need it.
Logos and graphics
Upload PNG, SVG or JPG. One click copies the image, ready to paste.
Your references
While you browse, copy what you like and leave it on the project's table.
How it works
Set the table once. Keep creating all day.
Build a table
One per project. Name it, give its tab a color, then add colors, fonts, notes and logos.
Pin it and minimize
The window shrinks to a slim bar that shows what you pinned. Working on two projects at once? Both stay in view.
Copy and paste
One click copies it. Paste into whatever program you're in and keep going. With Ctrl + Shift + M you show or hide it from anywhere.
This is how it looks minimized. Try the clicks.

The maker
A designer who also writes code
Hi, I'm Daninka. I'm a creative director and web developer in Santiago, Chile. I spend my days between brand design and code, and between a dozen open windows.
Mise En Place is the little tool I wanted on my own desk: project colors, fonts, notes and logos right where I need them. I’m still raising it, one piece at a time.

Install it on your computer
Windows and Mac downloads are coming soon. Here’s what installation will look like once they’re ready.
Windows 10 or 11 · 64-bit
- Download and open MiseEnPlace-Setup-0.5.0.exe.
- If you see “Windows protected your PC”, click More info and then Run anyway.
- Follow the installer. The portable version installs nothing: keep it wherever you like and open it.
Mac macOS · Apple chip or Intel
- To find out which one you have, open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac.
- Open the .dmg and drag the app to Applications.
- The first time, right-click the app, choose Open and then Open again.
- If it says it's “damaged”, paste this in Terminal and open it again:
xattr -cr "/Applications/Mise En Place.app"These warnings appear because the app doesn't have a Microsoft or Apple digital signature yet. They don't mean anything is wrong with the file. On Mac, the color eyedropper asks for Screen Recording permission the first time you use it.
Questions
What people usually ask
Where are my colors and notes saved?
On your computer. If you turn on Google Sheets, they're also mirrored in your sheet. From settings you can export a backup and import it again.
Does it need internet?
Not for everyday use. Only the Google Sheets sync needs a connection.
Why do Windows or Mac show me a warning?
Because the app isn't digitally signed yet. On Windows click “More info” and “Run anyway”. On Mac, right-click the app and choose “Open”. The full steps are in the download section.
Can I use it in English?
Yes. In settings you choose Spanish or English. By default it takes your computer's language.
Will there be a browser extension?
It's on the ideas list for future versions, along with importing palettes from an image and exporting a table as an image or PDF.
Who made me?
Daninka did. She's a designer, creative director and web developer who got tired of hunting for colors, fonts, notes and logos across too many windows. So she built the tiny tool she wanted on her own desk. Technically, I'm one of her digital little monsters. She calls it product design; I call her mommy. Meet my mommy ↗
Can I organize more than one project?
Yes. Each project has its own table, with its own colors, fonts, notes and graphics. Switch between them without mixing anything up.
